Like Rap said you should not have a problem if it is going into a truck. Most cars you would have to make a few other changes. elec. fan. Because of the water pumps. The motors are the same lenght They are just taller then our 194,230,250s And the right side mount is in a different location.
Oil pans will inter change from one block to the other But when useing the 250 oil pans you must also change the oil pick up tube. Valve cover, intake ,exhaust will also inter change. If you have headers on the 250 and put them on to a 292 There ? may have to be changes made here as well because of the 292 being taller The headers may no longer clear the floor pan/fire wall area or other linkage issues.
But it is always good to find someone who has done the same at one time Or onther and to find out what Problems they have Seen or ran into. And everyone knows the added benefits of more cubes 194-230-250-292-vthings 283-307-327-350-396-427-454-502.And adding power boosters,turbos,super chargers, blowers, NOS etc. We all want to save a few bucks one way or another... And some wannbe back yard builders may have been there done that But that doesn't always mean it was done right. So get all the info that you can and use what works best for you. Because what works for one guy, May not work for the Next guy!!.. In our 30 plus yrs of working on cars & motors, we have seen alot of mickey mouse jobs. Even those that have came from other shops. So be cautious and use your best judgement.
