I'm planning the power window conversion for my 50 GMC. I notice the window rests inside the doors appear to also be used as reinforcment for the outer door skin. If this is true, I won't be able to install the PW horizontal section in the center of the window for best operation. I have one response from another site saying it's OK to remove the center rest. Is that correct??????

Thanks,
Grant

Hello Grant, I have done several window installations on pass cars and trucks where we eliminated the wing glass. I just cut the support out and never had a problem to date.On the cars the door skin has a curve in it, I so I weld in a filler strip to make the door line straight. Maybe this will help--Paul
