I removed a 250 from a '74 GMC 3500 duallie and installed a 292 from a '63 p/u with no problems. I bought the correct engine mounts from the local dealer, used the original radiator, carb and other bolt on parts from the 250. Seems as if I had to do some work on the alternator brackets because the '63 had a generator and had to drill one hole for the starter from the 250. I did this in about '83 so may have forgotten a few things, but do remember it was not too hard and I'm not an ace mechanic by any means.

It made a new truck of the one ton.
