HELLO, I'AM BUILDING A CHEVY 250 TO DROP IN MY 64 CHEVY II. MODS INCLUDE 307 PISTONS, CAM, CLIFFORD MANIFOLD & HEADERS. I PLAN TO USE A QUADRA-JET CARB AND WOULKD LIKE TO KNOW MY POSSIBLE FUEL PUMP OPTIONS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE 292 FUEL PUMP INTERCHANGES DESPITE THE DIFFERENCE IN BLOCK LOCATIONS ON THE 292, IS THIS TRUE AND DOES IT INDEED FLOW MORE FUEL, OR IS THE STOCK 250 FUEL PUMP ITSELF OK TO USE DESPITE THE LARGER CARB. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

How high is the compression on your 250? The only thing I'm curious about is the Quadra-jet. To my knowledge, the smallest available was a 725cfm. Granted the primaries are small, but the secondaries are huge. Just curious. I'm using a rejetted 600 cfm edlebrock on my almost stock 250, and it doesn't seem to be running rich. Just my 2 cents. I ran a Quadrajet on a Buick 225 V6 for a while, and it worked great. As long as you know how to tune one they work pretty well on small engines.

usually the only time u need to upgrade to an electric fuel pump is when u super/turbo charge or add Nox...or get a bloody lot of HP out of your engine...
