Some 51's had side mounts like 53-54 cars and some didn't. this makes a differnce. The information I was offering was for swaps in cars I have done that were equipt with the 235's mounted with side mounts. The reason for moving the radiator rather than modifing the water pump, was so a replacement pump could be bought " on the Road"and changed with minimum no.of tools.There are several water pumps---short and long----Nova verse Truck and pulley combinations available for late motors so combination controls the amount the radaitor is moved forward. On 53-54 cars when the rad. is move forward you do have to trim the inner hood structure slightly. Maybe this will help--Paul
