What the chance of 300 fitting in a Falcon where a 172 use to live? Will the flywheel/bellhousing bolt up ?? The car has 3 on the tree now. A 4 speed and larger rear end (Mustang) could be added if needed.I know where a real cream puff car is and would like to be better schooled on this before I jump up and make a offer on the car..Always building something in my head..OL'SCRAP

After the fact.. i just read the post about a 300 in a Maverick. I think this would be the same deal. Looks like I will have to find out how much longer the 300 is and go from there...SCRAP

Speaking of Maverick's...would you believe that I have a set of hubcaps that came off of a 1973 Maverick I had back in 73. If I remember they have a gold painted unset..Have not looked at them in 30 years.I think I will find them in the attic tomorrow and look them over....no telling what else I find up there!!!!! SCRAP

several years ago i got a ride in a webber- carburated, 300 six-powered maverick, with a 5-speed. what an awsome ride! a falcon would be even better! the owner delighted in blowing the doors off of mustangs, camaros and other car drivers, who often sneered at his lowly, plain-jane maverick!

if i remember right, the radiator mount had to be moved forward about 3", but the conversion was no big deal.

There's a guy who races at our local track who runs a ford 300 straight 6 in a maverick. Pulls the wheels off the ground everytime, its a manual tranny also since he runs in Super Shifters.


His names Keith Winterbottom dont even know if he's maybe a member here. But my dad said he used to race a Falcon back in the day with writing on the back saying "just Falcon around".
Also in the picture you can see how the hoodscoop is slightly off center becuase the carbs arent in the middle.

Thanks, been reading a lot of good STUFF on Ford six.com. I went today and put a ruler on a 300 Ford motor. Now if I can find a Falcon to eye ball. I don't want to be poking around the one I want to buy. I think the more I look the higher the price will be. SCRAP

A 300 is about 3" longer.
