Hey Mike,
It seems that I've heard that there are forged pistons available for the 230 cid flathead 6. If you look at the posting below yours, someone mentions something about Sealed Power forged pistons. Also I think I've heard about Silvolite forged pistons. Have a look at all the postings below and there is some good info there. Also, if you select to view a year's worth of postings in the Mopar forum, you will see that there was a thread of about 55 or 60 posts from last fall, in response to one question. There is some really good info there.
As for what to do to your bottom end, well, if you don't plan to run your engine at more than 2500 rpm, then you probably don't need to do anything. A balance job wouldn't hurt, if you've got the money. Beyond that, I think the stock configuration is fine, unless your going to try to pour massive amounts of torque through your engine. I'm not sure you can get that much torque out of it, though, without putting on a blower or something, and then your head would probably pop off, although I've heard of people doing that sort of thing to flathead engines.
If you really want to go trick and get more low-rpm torque, you could have your crankshaft rod journals welded up and machined offset to increase the stroke. The longer the stroke the lower the rpm at which the torque peaks out. And with a bigger stroke, you'd have a few more cubic inches, so your overall torque would increase. But then you'd have to use shorter connecting rods. Anyway, it would be a relatively small gain for so much work and expense.
There are oiling system mods that people make to the bottom end to improve oil flow to the bearings, but these are usually done for high-rpm operation (racing, tractor pulls, etc., at 5000 - 6000 rpm). If you look at the other posts I mentioned above, you'll see that a guy named Hudson does this stuff with his 230. It's pretty interesting.
Well, good luck,
Matt
