I have been looking for oil filters for my 38 and 49. Found 2 at a farm store going out of business. Fram C3 was the # that was the same size. My old filter was AC-P-316. Seen these on ebay. Anyone know the Napa filter #? thanks, Bob

Perhaps this may be helpful information. Most filter manufacturers have a section in their catalogs showing the dimensions, thread sizes, flow rates, burst pressure, filter media, etc. for all of their filters. Perhaps you can find a modern and readily available replacement filter similar to your OEM?

Also consider if a remote-type filter would work. A supply and return line from the engine block to a location away from the engine. You can bypass the original filter or use that location to install the remote oil lines.

Of course purists or those wanting authentic filters for accuracy, I suggest a tour of Hemming's Motor News...online or in monthly book form at most book or magazine shops.

Regards,
Gerry
