It's 17 gallons. You can probably use any pickup truck gas tank. They're almost all vertical. You have to fabricate mounting brackets. I made mine out of 1/8x1 flat iron and tied it into the floor, up the back wall tied into the package tray and back down over the tank and tied into the floor again. Probably overkill, but I wanted to be sure that it wouldn't come loose in case of a collision. The other thing I considered was a moon gas tank, but unless you get the mongo-sized one (ie, big bucks) it will not hold much gas. I got my p/u gas tank from a guy up the street for $25. Feel free ask if you have any other questions. One other thing: if you still have the 6v system the sensor from a newer tank will most likely will require 12v. I'm going to 12v soon anyway, so I'll just top it off if I'm going on a trip, or use the odometer to keep track of gas level for now.
