my front springs on my 49 plymouth are getting weak. they are 5.5 inch OD. does anyone know the length of a stock spring, or what the spring rate should be? i found out that the front shocks car be replaced with shocks from a chevy van.

Dear Bob;

I was told once that only a few companies wind automotive springs in the USA. A 'spring shop' in your area will know who/what/where etc.

You may need to have one of yours removed to measure due to It's age/lack of current specs.

There may be a club that is Plymouth only.

This place can help you with front springs as well as the rear. They can make custom front springs if you want to lower the car some.
