Pre 70 they used The old Borg warner Flash-o-matics and later on they used (just for a short while) Chevy autos, but only in the Jeeps I think. From 73 up they used only the Torqueflites 904, 998, and 727 in thier cars, the 904/998 has the same case but the 998 is a medium duty, while the 904 is a light duty. Dont get me wrong, the 904 was installed behind almost all half of AMC motors and is light and stout in the smaller motors, five liters and down, not massive torque. The 998 is a tough meduim duty rig, and was installed behind most of the Sixes newer than 79-80. the Jeep 999 is the same thing.
