Does anyone has any head airflow figures for a super or turbocharged 250 Chevy?
I'm trying to find out some combinations and which are the best parts to use but have no idea about these figures. Never put my head on a flow bench.
Any information will help a lot, as I ain't got any decent number yet.

Thanks

Well, I just find out some numbers. As they are from a NA SB Chevy, I was wondering how different are the L6 numbers from.

INTAKE EXHAUST
Lift Flow | Lift Flow
|
0.050 40 | 0.050 30
0.100 70 | 0.100 65
0.200 140 | 0.200 118
0.300 205 | 0.300 153
0.400 240 | 0.400 185
0.500 260 | 0.500 201
0.600 262 | 0.600 213

Are the 250 figures agree with that? Can I take it from base?

Anybody?

Thanks

My name is Vinnie.

Thanks for your help. I was looking for it but wasn't able to find it on the board.
Jeez, those numbers are disappointing.

But thanks any way.

a lump ported head with MILD (port work)cast iron head. And Flow tested on a Super Flow SF-1020 flow bench.

Intake 194 --- Exhaust 1.6 @28"
.100 63.5 --- .100 56.5
.200 128.6 --- .200 105.3
.300 177.9 --- .300 130.8
.400 215.2 --- .400 149.6
.500 234.0 --- .500 163.7
.600 244.6 --- .600 173.9
.700 250.5 --- .700 180.5
.800 251.9 --- .800 184.5

These numbers are of a head that my lumps were installed. And had only mild port work (valve area)& Had Only port matched the head to a Mrgasket int & exh gasket. The port was Not touched other wise.(meaning The roof was not rasied Or was the intake port widened.

I hope this helps.

Ps you can not compair a SB head to our L6 head
when it comes to flow numbers.

Thanks Larry

Yeah, these seems to be better numbers. Is the gain that diferent when you modify the roof top? I mean, do the numbers have a huge increase?
What about the exhaust? Did you have any lump or modification in that?

Ok I have to correct myself on this one.Because I had mixed up my flow sheets.

This Head was a 194. Which had a 1.94 in. and a 1.6 Ex. The head was milled down. Then The combustion chamber opened up around the Valve to unshroud it. Finaly CCs were 66.4 .
Valve guides Shaped & bowls blended to the valves
The Port was Only matched to a 155 MrGasket gasket. The Port could have been Rasied and Widened But we did not.
As for the exhuast No lumps Valve guides reshaped and Blended Pocket Blended to the Valve.

Did you relieved the chamber wall near to intake valve to improve flow on that head? I've done it once and had not notice any diference.

that one was on the Plug side of the head.I'll try and get some photos Up of the Head (chambers,
ports And valve area. that way you can see the way the combustion area was kinda reshaped. would that help??

Yes i have But my pockets are not that deep. But honestly I'm not Out for every little knit picky
10th or HP. If i was racing for Points or The Money Then it would be different, for me to spend those kinda bucks. But i just race for the Fun and the sport of it.
When one starts to worry about What the Other guys has spent and how their going to Beat them.
Personaly there no longger worried about the fun
or the sport. It just becomes all about money.
And to me Thats NO FUN.

So for me it doesn't matter Win Lose Or Draw.I'm just into for the FUN & the rush. And if I get to
kick some V8 Butt Or a import fine be it. \:\)

Larry, have you seen Glen Self's heads lately? Looks like the combustion chambers are different. Do they braze material into that and blend it on a different shape?
If you can send me the head pixs, my email is seiscanecos74@yahoo.com.br

Thanx

seiscanecos they made 25" or 28" inches for that numbers

we here in brazil make 10" inches,at us benchs

need a convert , my head builder say is about 60%

if in usa is 200cfm here is 120cfm ,

understand now how they make this huge numbers,

here we have only poors airflow bench make 10" inches numbers, beacause this make a huge difference
