I know very little about turbos other than that they improve performance by increased air induction. I am rebuilding a Mopar flathead six cylinder. Could a turbo be fabricated for this engine? What would it take? Would the engine be able to take the extra boost and stay together? If its possible, where should I start looking to find the parts? About how much would it cost? Any help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Preston, If the flathead 6 is anything like a ford flathead v8 they love turbos it's the best way to increase the HP&TQ of an engine. It,s easy on parts compared to any other way to increase power. You will have to fab a lot of parts, but keep it simple and you will have a successful upgrade. First question is what the use of the car will be, then how much HP can you use for this application?

preston, adding a turbo takes alot of planning. with our inlines it take lots of custom fabrication.
as turbo 6 said, what hp # are you looking for?
to add to that, answer these questions.
size of engine
rpm range for power to be made
what boost level in psi do you want
blow thru or draw thru carb
those will help[ get things going. tom
