Anyone know exactly where I went wrong with my clutch? I put a 1978 292 motor in a 1964 Chevelle. The car previously had a 194 inline with a manual trans. The bellhousing that I used came from a boneyard pile so I have no idea what year truck was the donor.(it's aluminun)I simply put in an all new clutch,PP,and throwout.(retaining the chevelle clutch fork) This is where it began.Imediately we had clutch chatter.Plus, the throwout was always singing when the clutch was engaged.(as if the throwout was still dragging)As far as clutch control,I had retained the original chevelle clutch fork and original linkage. After pulling it tonight(I've already tried two different flywheels(both resurfaced by separate shops)and after two completely separate clutch and PPs(and two throwout bearings),it still chatters and I've concluded that we have a problem,Houston!Tonight I found damage to the input shaft cover caused by the TO bearing. I'm wondering exactly what is the correct clutch fork for this setup? And what is the correct TO bearing?....thanks...walt..tulsa,ok
