Thanks for all your help so far. Yes I like the sound it gives going up and down through the gears but hate the drone at cruising speeds.
My car has some sound proofing under the rear seat and on the separater panel between the rear seat and the trunk. The trunk has new weather seals but no sound proofing on the floor. There is no extra sound proofing on the cabin floor and kickboard except for the carpeting and underlay. The exhaust is hung with rubber hangers and is not touching anything.
The note about a possible intake problem is interesting. I previously ran a Clifford four barrel intake which seemed much quieter than the Offy that I'm running now.
In any event, you all have given me some very good ideas to try.
I will post as I try the things you suggested.
