I'm putting a "848" head on a 1955 261. Two questions...
1.) Rocker arms for 235's and 261's had different part numbers. I intend to use the 261 rocker assemblies, are they the right ones to use with the "848" head?
2.) Valve springs for the 261 were slightly stronger than the 235 springs. The head I have was rebuit using new 235 springs. I'm thinking they should be changed for the stronger springs, but what if I didn't?
Thanks--------joe

externally, 53-62 arms are the same, you just need to make sure that if the block is a 53-57, that it uses the arms with the annular groove in the center of the rocker. 58-62 blocks would use the arms with the groove offset slightly to one side.

Many people have used the 235 springs on 261's without issues, but obviously, the 261 springs would be better. Dual springs from Clifford would be better still, especially if you are using a performance camshaft.
