Hello all....I have a 40 Chevy 4 door Special Deluxe and Im wondering what the original color was. The code on the tag on the passenger side of the firewall is hard to read, but I think it says "221" for the paint code, or maybe "281"...Its weird, its like worn way down but the rest of the tag is perfect. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks! The wheels on my car are maroon. According to that page, only maroon cars had maroon wheels. However the paint code on the firewall is 271 I think (after a pencil rub by my buddy), which is battleship gray metallic. Is there a way to tell the original color of the interior? Mine is tan, so I would lean towards maroon for the car body color but if the code is for the battleship color, its a weird combination. Thanks for the help.
