Malicer, if you want to go the next step, switch to an electric cooling fan. I did and it's given two benefits, one; the fans hardly need to run at all (never once moving more than 15 mph) and two; a lot lower chance of me losing my fingers working on the engine while it's running.
There are kits around for this, but I just fabbed up some bracketry to use fans from the junkyard.
