Thanks, I understand that part. My questions is the tabs that stick down below the wings about 3/16 of an inch. The seal itself (not counting the wings) is more than 180 degrees around. So it won't sit flat against the block. My info says to cut it down to 1/16 of an inch on either side of the seal, is that correct?
