Pops and I bought a wrecked Trail Blazer at auction Saturday. \:\)

So it looks like the Jimmy project (1950 1/2 ton 5 window) will be sooner rather than later.

It'd be cool to have it together for a push truck at B-Ville, but we'll see. Our racer still needs alot of work, that we haven't started yet. (too much other stuff in the shop still)

Just had to tell somebody that can appreciate keeping things in line. \:\)

Yeah, I'll likely start a thread about it, not sure which forum tough (truck, EFI/Blown, drivetrain ???) yet.

To be 'correct' I should probably start in 'truck talk' till I get to the point of puting the engine (trans & rear) in, then I'll likely start a thread in drivetrain (with links between the two) finishing with one in EFI/Bown (more links).

But that might be too convoluted.

I'ts an '04, not ideal I know, but I got the whole truck.

I figgure that way I have ALL the odds & ends with it (you know, the parts that you need that even the dealer gives you the RCA dog look when you ask ).

I'ts a 2WD so for the immediate future that should be a simple swap (as opposed to making the '50 a 4WD truck or have the trans converted).

Of course now pops is throwing the idea around about just swaping the whole frame from the trailblazer under the '50 Jimmy.

Not sure I want to open that can of worms at this point.

I wonder if the rear diff would fit? The TB came with some really good brakes....

for sure getting the whole truck is ideal. I'm thinking the seats would be real nice in the '51.

It's got buckets (with a console) I was kinda hoping for a split bench (40/20/40) but that's not what showed up at the auction. I would like the bench as for short hops I could carry 3 people, or if I get another dog they do better on a bench.

I am unsure on the rear diff, as yet. The Jimmy is burried in the snow, and I haven't got a truly accureat meaurement off the TB, yet.

Lot's of things have been held up by the plow truck occupying the shop, tried to start it today, wouldn't crank (solenoid doesn't click, even with the charger on 200 Amp boost \:o ). So I'm going to try that again today sometime, so we can shuffle stuff around and facilitate all the data gathering that we should need to decide on what plan to go with.

Yes the TB brakes are BITCHIN in their hugeness. I gotta figure that if I can get a set of brakes on the Jimmy that the factory put together on the same vehicle, I should have a better chance of getting them to balance. Especially since I won't have ABS or stability controll (at least at first, probably not ever, but I learned a while back not to say 'never').
