When I pour gas in the top of the carb... It leaks out the flapper where the Butterfly shaft goes thru the body.
I looked on Drawing from GM and it shows that... there is no Gasket that goes there. The Carb is a Rochester Vari-Jet E2SE. It is on my 250 I6 but I think they put these on Chevy Citations since it was early 1980s.
My plan is to get JB Weld for aluminum and plug the hole. Just have to make sure I dont JB the moveable shaft on the flapper.

How many leaks do you have?
Leaking around the throttle shaft I would think would be normal, depending how much gas your poured down the carb and if the throttle was closed. If the throttle shaft is sloppy you need bushings. You don't want much more than a couple of 32nds slop. There is not much clearance around the butterfly.
Are you sure the hole that is leaking isn't vacuum port that might have lost the tube to put a hose on?

It was at the butterfly shaft on the bottom. I did pour a good bit of gas in it but not that dog-gone much. I put some JB weld on there. A Trick I learned from a Plumber... Put some bread down in the hole (so not to JB weld the butterfly) then apply the JB weld. Plumbers used this trick to hold back water when they want to braze a piece of pipe. It dont leak no more... It will start but not stay running since I rebuilt the carb. Will provide an update when I fix it. Thanks.

OK dudes I rebuilt the carb and it still wont run. I didnt have many leftover parts either.
My question now is... Is there an inexpensive carb I can buy new to fit on this 1981 250 motor?
This is my work truck and I cant make money till I get the rascal running.

I have heard good things about Langdon's Carter Webber and adapter he sells. IIRC they are New Old Stock (NOS) and not too expensive. I remember his site listing various adapters for it, but I don't recall exactly to what.

Thanks for the info. I saw one carb for $75 which is much better than $400 whew

I finally got a Vari-Jet carb from National Carburators of Jacksonville Florida. It cost $200 and they shipped it UPS. I took it out of the box and bolted it on. The motor cranked right up. I will never rebuild a carb again.

pinebluffdude; Just so you know if you have that problem again, Tom Langdon (STOVEBOLT 6) one of our advertisers would have sold you the adapter AND the two barrel (progressive) Carter Webber for less than the $200 the carb from National Carburators. Plus he contributes to our organization through his ongoing advertisements in our bi-monthly newsletter. He also is a wizard at making these old sixes run and his advise is free! SOB

I did consider the Carter Webber, price $75 from Stovebolt. I did consider it but wasnt sure how all the linkage and bolt patterns would match. The Vari-Jet sits sideways because it was made to go on the GM Front Wheel drive cars. Being as this late model inline is a bastardized version, I stuck with the original equipment. My buddy down the road has a conventional 250 with the conventional head (not the Integrated like I have now) and I can get the whole motor for $100. Maybe then I will get with Stovebolt for my more improved Inline motor. PS - Dont tell this to my current inline... she is very sensitive.
