Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines 1978 ford 300 Help!

Hello I would like to answer you guys with a question since you brought up the Ford 300, its the closest engine that compares with the GM 292.

So whats the better engine of the two, I heard that the Ford 300s have all kinds of problems with timing gears busting and someone told me that the Ford inlines are harder to rebuild then GMs 292 is this true or garbage.?

I personally like 292s cause there easy to modify and adapt to any GM vehicles trannys.
I would consider GMs to be more high class vehicles, Fords trucks were only good for farmers or some other job situations were you could trow comfort and style features out the window.
