Inliners International Forums General Discussion Drive Train NV4500 OD Tranny Swap

Has anybody done this swap to a 292??? I'm looking into replacing the heavy duty 4-speed in my father's '82 C-20 with the NV4500 unit. My dad mostly uses this truck for cruising, but it still needs to have the capability of hauling around 1-1/2 tons of weight. As it is now, the 292 is buzzing pretty good on the highway and I would like to knock the rpms down a little. I'm going to go outside and find out what rear end ratio the truck has.
