Just came across this head, casting #'s show it to be from a 1963-1966 292. Would this head be suitable to use with unleaded fuels? Is it worth rebuilding for use as a replacement for the intergral head 1976 250? Intake and exhaust manifolds match the head, exhaust has a 3 stud outlet...your suggestions and comments please. jb

That head will interchange with the integral head. It is a very good idea as the integral head is not what you want to use on your project/driver. They are prone to cracking. Besides, headers and intakes are a lot more accessible with the non-integral head. The 194 has the smallest combustion chamber so unless you are building a hi-performance motor and want more compression, I can't see any reason why not to use this 63-66 head. Have a machine shop go thru it (unless you have the facilites to do it yourself) and install it.

Yes..... to all of your questions. Have the machine shop install hard exhaust valve seats and you'll have no problems with running unleaded.
