It was a Bosch pickup of some sort. It fit theough a hole in the belhousing portion of the OE transaxle. It has a Powerglide adapted to it currently, so no hole, not sure how much clearance between the trans and the flywheel as it is.
I was thinking about mounting the pickup to the adapter plate.
I know some systems (computers) have a limit to how much the gap in the trigger can be off from TDC (when the sensor sees it).
Does the Megasquirt have that? I could mount the pickup towards the bottom of the adapter plate but the OE location for it (where the gap lines up with TDC relative to the block) is between the 1:00 and 2:00 as you look at the flywheel end of the engine.

Seems like quite alot of correction.
I suppose I could try mounting the pickup 180* from OE and just change the wiring to the coil packs acordingly (just had that epiphany

).
