Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines 2x1 and split exhaust... would it matter.?

I have a 59 chevy truck with the stock 235 and the stock drive train. Would there be any point to upgrading to either the 2bl carb or 2x1 set up AND splitting the exhaust if the stock 3 speed and stock rearend are still going to be used?

I mean. Does it make sense to give more power to the engine if I still won't be able to go over 60 mph on the freeway?
