I just got done fighting on a 200R4 onto a 292. Heres what I found:
the flexplate bolts can be 1/2" or 7/16". Be sure to know it before you get any flex plate! If the holes are 1/2" you'll need Pontiac 455 bolts. There are currently 15 1/2" GM bolts left in their dealer system in the US. I know this. And there arent 6 in any one dealer. I have a 73 292. The flex plate will be 168 tooth. To get the 1/2" holes I ordered a 73 292 auto flex plate from Carquest. They will list two of them, one has 1/2" converter holes, the other has 7/16" converter holes. I ordered both and returned the 1/2" one. the 292 is drilled for straight or offset starter mounts, use a 3510 offset. I know this.
