I've been working on a '53 Chevy 3600 for a couple years now and have some progress to report: I've installed a totally rebuilt (by me) stock 292 with GM throttle body fuel injection retrofit. Yesterday I fired it up and WOW. Fuel injection is amazing technology. Nothing against a good carburetor, but I decided to try fuel injection on this project and it is going to be fun!!!

Here's a question for you guys: The 292 is a bit longer than original 216 engine so there is no clearance for a conventional radiator fan. I'm using a stock radiator, so was planning to mount a pusher fan between grille and front of radiator. Anyone out there have experience with this arrangement? Do you have some advise to give? Your comments would be MUCH appreciated.

Spal makes several different sizes and air flow versions that work very well. Many street rod and radiator shops sell them.

Just curious which EFI controller (or ECM) you are using?

Johnny,
I've got a 14 " curved blade Spal fan on the front of my radiator in the 52 pu. works fine. However I think the 16 " would move more air, it will fit. Suggest you also move the radiator down some and mount the fan high up. Also cut loovers in the inner fenders to move more air.
