Maintaining the GM electronics is harder unless you have access to the knoweldge and an eprom burner as they are not configurable online live like the aftermarket units.
For a TBI setup the only diagnostic tools needed is a good digital meter and a LED with a 610 ohm 1/2 watt resistor soldered on one lead, add 2 20-24 awg wires 24" long - used to check for pulses.
Really the hardest part of the conversion is installing the fuel lines and pump.
