Think the biggest problem you will run into with the 292 in a '54 is the parking brake lever is going to hit the exhaust and not sure on the clearance for the intake against the rib support on the firewall. I also think the oil pan to crossmember clearance is an issue. Buddy of mine did one a few years back.
