I have a AC fuel pump om my 50 GMC that has the vacume pump for the wipers, I also have a 6v electric vacume pump so I disconnected the vacume lines from the pump to clean up the engine a little, well now the pump will not work ? What do you do to have the pump work again with out the vacume assist ?

Not sure what pump you're saying isn't working, fuel pump?
Don't see how disconnecting the vacuum hoses from the vacuum portion of the pump would effect fuel pump portion, most old trucks had wiper quit long ago.

The vacume pump on the fuel pump is a source for problems.
When the vacume pump quits working the fuel pump will start giving trouble. Had a new one and it did not last long because of heat issues. It sat too close to the headers. Put a regular fuel pump and ran the wipers off the manifold vacume. If you need extra vacume, use a resevoir can. Those vac. fuel pumps are not cheap. Have already been through two of them. Use a regular fuel pump. Hope this helps.
