does any one on here have any toyota land cruisers??? running the stock 2f inline 6??? i've got two a 76 and a 85. very interesting engine. it is copy of a chevy six sort of. some things like a block of a 235 and a 250 head, without simease ports! they have shaft rockers. bore is 90mm and stroke is 4"??? very very slow reving. both mine are stock with six into one headers and 38mm webers.

Troy, I used to run Datsuns when I was a lot younger,1600 roadster & a 240Z(modified time trial car)and lately some interest like yours as popped up on these forums. I have been trying to research info on modifying a Nissan Patrol for a questioner, but it's been slow going. Anyway, while working on my modified '55 Chevy 210 for fun and games you and others have peaked my interest in searching for a street 4/6 banger in the Toyota/Nissan truck line. Maybe Inliners should think about adding a strictly "foreign engine" forum category if more people like yourself are interested.Obviuosly Inliners International is serving a growing need for a new category of possible members. I didn't answer your question, but I hope someone will. In the meantime good luck with your project(s) and keep us informed.

I had one in my 71fj55. Toyota bought the engine design from GM way back. The 2F engine is a 258 if i recall and the block is about 4x as beefy as the Chevy. When i had my 292 up at the machine shop the owner and i compared the thickness of the two blocks and it was pretty absurd how beefy the Cruiser block was compared to my 292. Forget about aftermarket parts on them tho. The engines were built to run forever at low rpms= but most people find themselves getting them rebuilt only because they try running them with the stock gearing on the highway.
