Has anyone used the cast iron headers that LANGDON has for sale on their web page. I like the looks of them,they are short and they dump down. Thats what I need on my 50 Chevy to get the exhaust from the 250 Chevy down between the motor and the steering drag link.Just wondering about the FIT to the block the quality of the casting..SCRAP

Dear Scrap;
I think Mr. Langdon's headers are designed for vehicles that came with a 250" engine from the factory, or one in that 'family' etc.
If you have a 250" in a 50 Chevy. you might need to have some custom made as the 216" was there first.
The 250 set he sells has the rear pipe angled rearward & that may not fit as the throttle/clutch linkage, parking brake and master Cyl. are all right there.
The 49-53 models are difficult to modify due to "all that stuff."
I would check the 'return policy' before you buy.
Good luck, John M.....

I used a set on a Chevy II with a 292 and they worked great. It took a little skill to bend the pipes to clear the z-bar for the clutch linkage.
Never had a leak, but had to do a little grinding to get them and the Clifford intake to fit together.
Tom can probably send you the measurements so can determine if they will fit your application.

Scrapiron; If you have a good exhaust manifold you can have it split for dual exhaust and maintain your original clearances. Mike at Kansas Kustoms does great work and I am very happy with one he did for my 261. Here is a link to his web site. http://www.inliners.org/Advertisers/kkk_ad1.html 57 Mike

I have a set of those and we tried them on a '50 Chev with a 292 but they hit the lip on the firewall in those early years and the parking brake linkage would have been in the way if we had got that far. Maybe a set of shorty headers will do the trick for you.
