You might want to take in the Hot August Nights show on Reno that lasts for a week and is wall to wall hot rods and customs and a great swap meet and the next week is Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats 400 miles (640km) away. If you have time before or after the Peterson Museum in Los Amgeles and the NHRA Museum in Pomona are great stops too.
