Maybe I'm not asking this right,,,,
Is there any specific year or application that is better than another, for a mechanical pump ?, this is a mildly modded 250, cam, lumps, intake and exhaust, should I pick maybe a truck 250, or does the stock 194 pump do the same,,?

I use a stock pump on mine with a 5/16 hard line to a 2 barrel Rochester carb. I have a 3/8 hard line from the tank with a stock pickup. I like the pumps you can take apart instead of the ones that are crimped together only because I think they look cooler and I suppose you can service them if you want. I don't have any fuel delivery problems that I'm aware of. My engine is 296 inch displacement, naturally aspirated, horsepower probably around 250.

I think my pump came off a 230 from a 68 Nova I parted out. It's a rebuilt, not original to that engine so can't say for sure.
