Dan I would go the other way,load it up.If you havn't bought parts yet get the biggset overbore pistons you can get, mill the head an 1/8th.A full race cam, split exauhst and an hei or some other spark improvments. These mods will really wake up your 261 wihout throwing driveabilty out the window.A couple of centurys ago when I was young I had a more extreme engine in a 55 sedan, It was the first car my little sister drove,she had no problems and liked the hell out of it.
