Hi everyone, my wife and I had the pleasure of going over to Perry's place yesterday and taking a look around at the goodies. He thought it would be nice if I could leave a post with a few more details so here it goes. In answer to 51 ford fan, there a couple of flathead engines that I saw. One is a 6 cylinder mounted in a military chassis, more on this later, and is either a GMC or Pontiac, (casting date 1-19-5), ie: 1945. The other flathead was a '20's era 4 cylinder that we could not find any distinguishing indentification logo's cast into. It did have a gear drive generator that was about 10-12" in diameter and had a tag on it that said Northwest Electric (this engine may not be available at this time as it is on adjoining property). Now back to the Military chassis'; there are two of them. These should be seen by all and one of them is quite an impressive contraption! We'll start with this one; It is a testament to backyard ingenuity

This is a 4X4 military 2 1/2 ton rolling chassis made into a front lift boom tractor. The other is also a 4X4, has no body but mechanically is all there, engine, trans, differentials. In the old barn is a ton of rusted ...everything, u-joints, pulleys, sprockets, shafts, etc... Remember I said rusty, the roof has failed so the stuff has gotten rained on. This would be an artist sculpturers paradise as there are many unique shapes and sizes of metal that could be used in art pieces. Don't let this stop you from rummaging through the stuff for the find of a lifetime. If you need pictures of anything let me know and I'll run over and take them and can email them to you. Many thanks to Perry for posting this topic.
