The 97's don't come like that but Harper did do the "surgery" as you call it and built the linkage which turned them into 3 single barrels with the second butterfly opening in a progressive manner. I think Titens setup is complete, maybe he can be persuaded to display some pictures,, \:\) We still have to find more linkage pieces to finish ours.
