any opinions on 292 oil pans? I raced ovals before with left turn race pans...now building a hot street 292 that will see occasional srip runs...probably 5000 rpm tops so will a stock pan be ok or should I up the capacity?....ground clearance will be a problem with this car so will have to go "out" rather than deeper...thanx

Why not just add the SBC kick out sump kit from speddway to your pan?

I'll look..i thought they just had oval pans with left turn baffles....I guess any sbc drag pan...or maybe a corvette pan could be used...but..is it needed for street use?

Nope.. All that's needed is a stock motor, single barrel carbatooter and a distributor.. But now if you want to make some improvements that make other people envious and make them want one too, you need to chrome plate it when you finish. The oil pan capacity in most in line engines is more than adequate for occasional 1/4 mile passes.

thanx....I think I have a medium duty truck pan which supposedly has 1 qt more anywhoo..so I should be good.....as for chrome...I prefer engine paint and hot rod suede!!!! Ya don't have to wax it and the rain keeps it clean!!
