Has anyone used a clutch fan on one of these motors? What application did you use? I was looking for an option that freed up a few hp when it wasn't needed, unlike a flex fan.

Dear Joe;

No, I doubt it. I've never seen or heard of one either.

There's no clearence (fan/radiator)or need as these engines/vehicles didn't have A/C.

You can use a thermostatically controlled fan mounted in front of the radiator if there is room. The aftermarket ones are mostly light weight plastic including the mounting frame and don't draw much power when they kick on. You can purchase single and double fans at many auto parts stores.

Hmmm, maybe I'll stick with a 18" metal flex fan. Thanks for the help!
