I am putting a 61 235 with side mounts into a 49 coupe with front mounts - does anybody make a side mount that fits 49 frame with fenton headers?

Hi WADDNME . . .

Do you still have the 216 that came out of the coupe? If so the front motor mounts are part of a plate that bolts between the timing gear cover and the block. Perhaps it can be fitted to the 235 and retain the front mounts . . .

Just a thought . . . no experience here.

Yes, the 216 plate will fit the 261 but you have to tear the engines apart to swap them.

Why not just drill the 261 front plate to match 216 mount layout ? Its worked for me.

thanks for the replys to my message - I never did like the front mounts they break too easy - I just ordered a side mount kit from Buffalo enterprises cause I plan on jerking it around with a t5 5 speed - also a spacer plate for the t5 - he was the cheapest I've found

Some of them don't have the lip on the cover to drill to. If it has the lip that is the way to go.
