A reference I have lists the 230 / 250 engines at 420lbs with a water pump, carb, exh manifold and a distributer but without any flywheel or alternator. By comparison an all cast iron small block Chevy V8 is listed at 530 lbs in the same trim and the older 216 was just about 625 lbs; or about the same as a big block all cast iron Chevy V8.
Any of the GMC, Mopar, or Ford guys have weights for their engines? All of these weights might be of some help in the tech section after they are confirmed as correct.
