Aluminum does flucuate a lot in cost, but I used to make a lot of carb spacers and my material cost ended up only being about $5 bucks for the raw material per spacer for 1" thick.
Yeah, that makes more sense. $5 for material. Mr Gasket selling it as a low price point while Offey goes for a premium price point.
I guess I have three options so far: Holley/Offey/open-element-air-cleaner, 2GC/Offey/adapter/factory-air-cleaner, or wait for CNC-Dude-2bbl-intake/2GC/factory-air-cleaner. The later might be the cheapest option.
