It's a Mercruiser 224 cubic inch 4 cylinder inboard boat engine, otherwise known as a 470, 488, 170 horse or 190 horse, according if it has a 2 bbl or 4 bbl on it. It's actually half of a Ford 460 with a bit shorter stroke. It looks like it has an aluminum 429 SCJ head on it too. I have been wanting to do this same thing for a while! I think it's pretty cool!!!
