Enjoyed your build pics and videos. Saw the notation that Armond Orr helped out too. Nice. He knows his power inline stuff. Best of luck.

Thanks for the interest. We had a great weekend. It started up and we got the motor broken in. I put some videos on the facebook page. I have a bored out block and I am waiting for Aluninum pistons. I'll take that motor to Bonneville. I think we can be competitive. Frank Walka put the engine together and Armond is a good guy to know. Can't wait to meet him in April.

Here is a link to a you tube video. I took the 57 Chevy out for some tune up passes. Art is having trouble shifting, can't get his legs under the wheel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv_Chu6ocuE

I guess it's time for an update. Last year I took the fairly stock Jimmy 302 to Loring and got it up to 122 mph in the mile and a half. Jump to last weekend. Now I have a bored block, some Arias aluminum pistons and a big lumpy cam. I got up to 133.3 in the mile and a half. Sunday morning on my first pass, I blew a freeze plug so I turned off after the mile with a speed of 133! I was shifting at 6000 rpms and I believe that could have been a 140 mph run. We'll make a few changes and try again in July. I've got an awesome engine builder and crew.

I need to mention Arias Pistons. They made us jewelry! They needed measurements of every critical dimension of the block and head and based on their vast experience with the GMC, built us the right pistons for our motor. This is very exciting, we were so happy with our results each run that no one thought of making a movie to hear the sound, it is an awesome sounding engine!!
