I have 6,000 into my 292 and yes I went exotic as far as how it looks. lol But it will be a good dependable street engine that will walk around a 290 hp 350 if I want it to. As of now the expected power out of mine should be around 310 hp and 330 torque at the flywheel. A nice close ratio 5 speed behind it and 3.73 gears will make things Really Nice. Its cammed to have mid-rang torque and peak RPM around 5000-5500 rang....would have to dyno it to get exacts....Compression is 9.5.1-10.0.1 which is street friendly. Complete head work...1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust and lump ports installed with .030 shaved off the head surface. .040 overbore with lighter forged pistons with an 18cc dish vs stock 30cc. I did BBC roller rockers for smoother valve train operation even though I'm at a lift where non rollers would be fine. Cam specs 268H 219 @.050 .499 on a 110 lobe center. I went as much American as I could with this engine so parts were fairly expensive. I can still turbo this if I want to as well. Though for a driver....and mainly highway or backroad cruiser with occasional fun...naturally aspirated will suit me fine. I think the parts and machine work was around $4000 and the show pieces and carb an manifolds were another 2000. Your 250 won't make as much power as a supercharged 350 with equal boost....but if you were to turbo charge that 250 to as much as 10 pounds you'd have a Wicked engine.
