John M. mentioned in February that a 1955 to 1959 truck trottle linkage would work on a 216 to 235 swap. I notice that new trottle linkage for v8 engines is available for these years. Will the v8 work or does it need to be for 6 cylinder trucks. I am down to trottle linkage on my swap. Thanks to John M. and others for the advice. The 235 cluth was too big for my 216 bell housing and I used the 216 flywheel, new cluth kit and 216 starter as all suggested.

Dear Bob;

You need the 6cyl linkage for the later (55-62) engine.

The V-8 linkage reversed will work on 63 & newer but not on yours.

Good luck, \:\)
