I guess it's time for an update. Last year I took the fairly stock Jimmy 302 to Loring and got it up to 122 mph in the mile and a half.
Jump to last weekend. Now I have a bored block, some Arias aluminum pistons and a big lumpy cam. I got up to 133.3 in the mile and a half. Sunday morning on my first pass, I blew a freeze plug so I turned off after the mile with a speed of 133! I was shifting at 6000 rpms and I believe that could have been a 140 mph run.
We'll make a few changes and try again in July.
I've got an awesome engine builder and crew.
