I bought this intake a couple of weeks ago been meaning to post on it, the outside carbs are 91-99 and middle one says EAB. They seem to be Ford 2 barrels with a non progressive throttle linkage, should I be converted to progressive? Now onto the choke do I need to link all the chokes or just use the middle one? Is this intake a good idea to put on the engine? Thanks.

This is a plenum type, and will have poor response working on all 3. Progressive preferred, center choke.

I think that might even be the one I bought, I got it for a good price so i felt alright about it, were would I be able to buy a progressive linkage? Cant seem to find a large enough fuel splitter for the carbs

I also noticed there is no place for coolant to flow through the intake is that a big deal?

In ND: probably, the carbs will ice up in lower temps. You can pipe exhaust gas or hot water to run through a tube attached to the bottom of the plenum. If your fab skills are good, perforate the plenum box and run the tube along the floor inside.
Exhaust heat picks up much faster, but harder to regulate and may get hot enough (summer, prolonged open throttle) to reduce power and change mixture. Water takes longer but more predictable.
Have you examined the carbs to see if all components match?

Just shot a email over to langdon's stovebolt asking him if he thinks this would be a viable option? What do you think?http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/store/online-catalog/#!/Heat-Plate-for-a-216-&-GMC-248-270-&-302/p/11995774/category=18665986

Hi Truck whisperer . . .

That piece which Langdon sells is designed for use on stock intake manifolds when running headsers/split-exhaust. Or for use with multi-carb intakes like the Offenhauser that is designed to bolt to the stock exhaust manifold.

The piece you have is similar in design to the McGurk multi-carb manifold with bolt-on ports that exit from the bottom of the plenum. This makes heating difficult because the heat needs to be beneath the carbs.

regards,
