I'm getting picky as I age! I had plugged the"extra" outlet of my 292 pump. Truth is,after viewing a complete motor at a boneyard,the thermostat housing on the 292 has extra outlets! The temp bulb location(drivers side)has another outlet there(for bypass to the pump)along with another outlet on the opposite side.(to heater)
Apparently,as the motor warms up,engineers found it necessary to have a certain amount of coolent flow to prevent"hot spots". Bottom line,sticking with the factory engineering usually pays in the long haul.(no offense to "backyard wizards" who may not use the bypass)...walt..tulsa
